Our Cause, Our Why, Our Children

Affectionately known as Ms. Emma, Emma Grynbal has been teaching survival swimming skills to children, as young as 6 months old, in the surrounding Tampa communities since 2003.  Ms. Emma has gained a reputation for teaching children the vital tools they need to survive in the quickest and shortest time resulting in dramatic transformations that saves lives.

Ms. Emma has fused her passion for helping children with her athletic aquatic background to tackle an even larger issue in Florida.

Tragically, 2021 recorded the highest number of fatal drownings amongst children in the state of Florida. Over 2/3 were under the age of 3 according to the Florida Department of Children and Families. That number fills nearly 5 classrooms a year. In Florida, children are constantly surrounded by opportunities to be in water leading to increasingly preventable deaths.

Ms. Emma has served the surrounding communities for decades out of community and residential pools.  Unfortunately, she is constrained by inclement weather which only allows her to operate 8 months out of the year due to storms, inadequate water temperatures and seasonal changes. She needs a year-round facility to call her own that is dedicated solely to child drowning prevention classes. Additionally, Ms. Emma would like to train more instructors using her proven teaching techniques to meet the increasing number of families and their needs.

Ms. Emma has been working diligently on finding her own place, but it comes at a cost which can’t be done by her alone. “I am now asking for your help to help me continue this beyond just me”, says Ms. Emma.  She needs donations to help purchase the right land, build the facility and pool, hire more instructors and establish a year round program. Every penny counts and all contributions are welcome.  The new facility will have a special dedicated area honoring those families who contribute at a larger generous level.

The above video was produced and directed by 2 family members who had their children enrolled with Ms. Emma and believe in her, her cause and her future.  Please take the time to view the video and listen to some of the families and their shared stories. These were only a few of the hundreds of families that have been impacted by Ms. Emma. She hopes one day to share them all.

Thank you and please follow Ms. Emma on Facebook for more updates on her journey to reach her goal.

Your contribution goes beyond gratitude and will forever be connected with her cause.
